Welcome to the Philippines! The Philippines is a country in Southeast Asia with more than 7,000 islands. Currently, I am residing in Santo Tomas, Batangas, near Mount Makiling, a well-known volcano in the Philippines. This picture was taken in the highest floor of St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center, where I will intern and work with the nurses and patients of the Filipino community. So far, I have encountered Filipinos that are very kind and willing to help you along the way. I must mention that they are also very willing to help one learn Tagalog, the first language spoken by a majority of Filipinos (English is second). The Philippines is a resilient country, as it has been under the influence of Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and American culture to name a few. I am excited to share not only the nursing experience in the Philippines, but cultural as well.

I’m excited for your adventure to begin. Thanks for the photo-what a spectacular view from the medical center.
